Looking after your piece
Care & materials
Our pieces are cast from plaster and finished entirely by hand. Plaster takes fine detail beautifully and gives that soft, matte, stone-like surface we love — but it does ask for a little care.
What they’re made for
Terrapots pieces are decorative homeware. They’re perfect for dried and preserved flowers, faux plants, or potted plants kept in their own plastic liner. They also make beautiful trinket dishes, catch-alls and homes for candles.
A note on water
Plaster is porous and is not waterproof, so our pieces aren’t designed to hold water directly or to be used for fresh-cut flowers in water. If you’d like to use yours with a living plant, simply keep the plant in its nursery pot or a plastic liner inside the piece.
Cleaning
Dust with a dry, soft cloth. For marks, use a barely-damp cloth and dry it straight away — avoid soaking, harsh cleaners or scrubbing.
Each piece is unique
As everything is handmade and made to order, slight variations in colour, surface and finish are completely normal — and part of the charm. Your piece will be one of a kind.
